As the summer is coming to a close, be sure to check out at least one of the farmer’s markets in the Twin Cities.
The Minneapolis Farmer’s Market, located at 312 East Lyndale Avenue North, Minneapolis, MN, offers great programming for kids.
In addition to offering fresh, local produce everyday from 6am to 1pm, this farmer’s market also integrates exciting activities that offer their guests more than just great food options.
For example, on Wednesday mornings from 9am to 12pm, The Minneapolis Farmer’s Market teams up with the Walker Art Center for an event called “The Art of Produce.” For this event, kids can dip fruits and vegetables into paint, and then use the produce as stamps to create great art!
On Sunday’s, the market offers a program called “Little Locavores,” which includes a 15-minute interactive class tailored to children that relates to topics around local food.
